IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to street construction and renovations to Union Circle, alternative campus bus stops have been configured and created at the University of North Texas for the 2025 fall semester.
Denton County Transportation Authority [DCTA] service offered in partnership with University of North Texas provide direct shuttle route services to-and-from the main campus, Discovery Park campus and off campus student living housing in Denton. Railyard is walking distance from DCTA’s Main Downtown Terminal Station and serviced daily by Connect Route 7 – Due to road construction throughout the main UNT main campus and surrounding area, Connect Rout 7 is altered for the 2025 Fall semester and will resume it’s original route in Spring 2026. UNT Shuttle route service to the Discovery Park Campus is available weekdays & Saturdays via transferring from Connect 7 to DP141 at the University Union.

Our goal at Railyard Apartments is to make sure we accommodate and foresee your transportation needs while living with us off-campus. Though we are walking distance to daily and nightly DCTA Connect bus service to campus and back, many of our residents prefer driving to UNT’s Main or Discovery Park campuses. All motor vehicles must be registered and a student is required to purchase a parking permit to utilize student parking lots at both campuses. There are a variety of parking permits available at the University of North Texas.

If your intention is to bike to campus, there are plenty of bike lanes available in Denton and free bike park-racks provided by the university that are conveniently located throughout campus to ensure your student biking experience is both safe and time efficient. Riders do not need to register their bikes… UNT Transportation recommends locking your bike! The University is not liable for damaged or stolen bikes. If you are in need of maintenance or have a mechanical problems with your bike, Transportation Service provides student cyclists access to the UNT Mobile Bike Shop >
