Student Legal Services ( SLS )
The goal of University of North Texas’ Student Legal Services is to counsel, advise and represent our undergraduate and post-graduate students. SLS offers a wide variety of legal guidance for students living off campus, including drafting legal documents and letters, representing students and the prospective resolution of potential questions that may arise with with lease agreements, owners, property management, residents and roommate rights. Traditional off-campus housing like shared conventional apartments, duplexes or houses can become complicated when it comes to costs, roommate agreements and legal responsibilities.

Shuttle Bus Route & Campus Parking
Living off campus while attending the University of North Texas is made simple by a variety of transportation options offered by UNT Transportation Services. Whether you drive yourself to the campus or catch one of the many UNT shuttle buses, commuting to and from campus and all around Denton is convenient and reliable. However your day begins or ends at the University of North Texas, UNT Transportation Services will be a big part of keeping you connected, moving efficiently, and on time to class!
The University Shuttle Bus Service is free to all students, faculty and staff. So, when exploring your off-campus housing options in Denton, be sure to ask if your perspective apartment community whether they are located on or near the UNT Shuttle Bus Service. The UNT shuttle line saves you time getting to-and-from class and will assist you to avoid costly parking fees, as well as supports the green initiative at both the University of North Texas and the City Of Denton.
Whether you live on or off-campus, if you intend to bring a motor vehicle to the University of North Texas, you must have a valid parking permit. Controlled parking areas include all campus lots, garages and most campus streets with posted signs designating each permitted parking area. A permit allows you to park in designated areas. Hourly parking is now managed through the premium parking app, which is easy to use and perfect for the students on the go. Simply download the app at premiumparking.com to get started.
Bicycles and scooters do not require parking permits or fees. The university is not responsible for stolen or damaged items and it is strongly recommended that students lock bikes or scooters while attending classes on either the main campus or Discovery Park.
